42 pounds for six weeks
You can join the postnatal yoga class from 8 weeks after birth or whenever you feel ready after that. Once in the class many mums continue to come until their babies are crawling.
There are three important aspects to the class: the yoga itself, bonding with baby and the supportive social element.
In this class we teach restorative yoga specifically applied to postnatal recovery. The practices help you recover strength and energy, ease aches, and release tiredness and tensions in ways that are appropriate for women during the first half year+ after birth. Baby is always part of the class and involved through fun rhymes, moves, and 'baby yoga'; there is lots of eye contact, physical contact and giggles. You discover how you can look after yourself while entertaining and connecting with baby.
The third aspect is the social one. The first half hour is a soft start: you arrive within the first 30 minutes of the class (this takes time pressures off you, because it isn't always easy to get anywhere on time with a baby!) Once arrived you can have a hot drink (while it's still hot!) and settle in feed/change baby, chat and make friends. The importance of having someone to listen or laugh with about the trials and tribulations of raising a baby is really valued in this first half hour.
You leave the class with ideas for home practice too!
